Eat.Shit.Sleep. [Fo' Real]
She couldn't get up from the lazy chair.
Heaving and panting gently, her adrenaline didn't work to its effect.
So she clutched on to the stick, and clutched on to the arm-rest.
I wrapped my hand under her arms, heaved and a ho-ed.
There, she sat.
Not even an inch had budged.
"Com' on Grams. I'm just right behind 'tcha."
She stood up, and she sat down.
She stood up, and she sat down.
She stood up, and she sat down.
"You sure you don't want a few more bites first before giving it another go?"
And you only see the fat-less meat on her lower jaw oscillating gently.
From the left to the right to the left.
"Ah hah! Move forward! That's where you want to go!"
Rooted to the same ground, her right foot advanced.
It was always the right foot taking the lead.
And you'd find out why, soon, in the next line.
It didn't trickle down.
It just apparated!
Down there, yes, her left foot.
So, it came down towards the left side.
Frenzy ablazed.
"Newspapers!!!"
"Toilet rolls!!!"
"Mops!!!"
******
There's no need to lead you through the whole ordeal.
Here comes the main point.
******
So, we were done with.
Cleaning up.
Showering her clean.
Fresh garments.
A huge cup of warm Milo.
There, I resumed to my chair by the dining table.
Half bowl of rice left, but plenty of other dishes still in sight.
I took a bite of meat. All alone.
Gawd did I know, I was so damn hungry!!

I Had To. Part II
Earth Hour does means "an increase in opportunities for crimes and sins".
Note, I didn't even say "an increase in rate of crimes".
I have checked up on my street, nobody responded to Earth Hour.
Is my house the only one?
If that is the case, I have every right to switch on all the lights at home, because I'm scared.
Thiefs aren't entirely stupid.
Earth Hour represents a chance for people to unite under a common cause but it also represents a chance for "misbehaviour".
I'm not entirely biased.
Earth Hour does get to the KIDS in a good way.
They don't fully comprehend the movement, but at least they showed their concern and are not as oblivious as the adults think they are.
They are the eager beavers to have all lights flicked off.
And that annoys me.
My youngest brother is calling me almost every single minute to check up on me.
"SIS. I said switch off the lights!!!"
Another thing is, my grandmother keeps switching on all the lights that I've switched off earlier.
Well, she can't help it of course.
She's already blind in one eye.
No, I'm not being mean.
I Had To. Part I
Many people expressed disagreements to its concept in essence.
I am, delightfully, one of those people.
I will start with telling you why I have placed it upon myself that I am not obliged to follow through with this grandeur of a stunt.
Lights and other electrical appliances at my home are only switched on between 7pm-11pm. That makes, 4 hours in a day. I sleep at night without the cooling service the air-conditioner provides me with. So, that leaves 3 fans rotating their blades to circulate air in three separate rooms. The security alarm is of course, switched on all the time, how much power would that even consume? TV is a rare treat. And the laptop has already been charged earlier on; no desktop PC is in use.
How much significant difference would it make if the 4-hour lights on period is reduced to 3 hours?
True, its main objective is "to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change".
Why continue to create awareness when in the end you cannot get down to taking action immediately?
Is that all you can do? Raising "awareness" but fail to instil a permanent behaviour in ourselves?
Why does this phrase "to raise awareness" exists in this context when people can simply be asked to "do it" knowing the reasons very well.
Who doesn't ask the question "why?!?!?!" when they are asked to do something.
Well, I have already made a habit of "saving electricity" for years.
And in my honest opinion, electricity plays a lesser part in contributing to climate change when compared to waste fumes from factories and cars, agricultural activities and etcetera.
Yes, don't give me the factories aka power plants generate power then electricity shit.
Electricity is made use of (not invented) by us to support our better lives for a good long time. We all know we can't live without it now, so we can't complain. The alternative is what we should turn to at this point if you continue to accuse me of my childish argument.
Tackle the bigger problems!
Slay the chief and crumble its foundation, leave no stink of carcasses and settle it clean once and for all!
Switching off lights and electrical appliances during Earth Hour is just a pathetic excuse for ourselves in an effort to comfort our "integrity being" that we are doing something to help save the Earth.
There are so many enthusiasts out there who have already started "saving the Earth" without being identified and credited officially. So, why is there a need for everybody to sign up or register for Earth Hour? To feel the adrenaline rush in you when you boast that you have officially signed up for a major global event? That you are made a worldly and considerate person in that sense?
#
A spokesperson for the World Wildlife Fund responded saying “The purpose of the event was not to save money or power. It’s a symbolic event.”
#
Symbolic event bullshit.
There is something called "Earth Day" (idea conceived in 1969), which is celebrated in many countries on the 22nd of April every single year.
There is something called "UN World Environment Day" (established in 1972), which is hosted every year by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition through the week of June 5.
There is something called "International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer" (designation was made on December 19 1994) on 16th of September.
There is also something called "Car Free Day" started out from as far back as 1956, which I think, is more practical and useful than Earth Hour.
There are many more that can be listed down, just google List of Environmental Dates.
So, still think 28th of March should be made any special??
Why not, just take Earth Hour as a major event during Earth Day or World Environment Day?
Back to the first part of the sentence stated by the WWF spokesperson - The purpose of the event was not to save money or power.
THEN WHAT????
It's a symbolic event, make sure you people publicize it well.
The whole damn world needs to know about it.
I don't care what methods you are gonna use, just make sure you get the message across.
Posters, flyers, cardboards, drive-out-get-the-word-out, shout out ...
(All kinds of pollution you can imagine have already begun to evolve from all that...)
From then on, it has already become commercialized.
"Hey friend! Wanna go out somewhere to celebrate Earth Hour??"
So we empty our pockets.
(You know, driving out burn fuels even if you don't eat out.)
I say it's (Earth Hour) probably made bigger this year due to economic recession.
They are trying to make us spend our money, you know, it actually helps to recover from the economy crisis.
If everybody is gonna keep their money at home, that circulation of money will stop somewhere and it doesn't really help to solve the recession.
While we can do more thinking on how to save Earth practically in that one hour, we are actually wasting that one hour just to think about how we're saving Earth by flicking the lights off.
And I thought time management is very important.
Who am I fooling?
#
This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.
#
Picked right out from Earth Hour's official website.
Why should the notion of politics be involved in an environmental issue?
That is so, wrong.
What's with the need of telling people to "vote" for either "parties" when we know damn well it's EARTH that we are gonna choose.
Man, who's that person who came up with this lousy idea.
It's something new, something different indeed.
But, I will go straight to the point.
I don't like it.
My argument is simple.
However, there are a few articles that I have come across and think it's worth a read.
They are after all, written much better than what I produced myself up there.

In New Zealand, over 95% of our electric power is from hydro power stations. The rest is from wind farms and a small amount from fossil fuel generation, (if it is still working).
So the city of Christchurch in the South Island is responding to Earth Hour by shutting off as much electrical dependence as possible and lighting candles, thereby producing more of the gases we don't want !!!!!!!!
Am I missing something here?

"however the one thing that these ignorant people are missing is the fact that we are trying to promote change here. The more you educate people about climate change, the more effort they will put in to actually changing."
So, educate people, instead of doing purposeless shows like the "earth hour". The earth hour will just make a lot of people feel less guilty for a bit, and then go on as usual.
"Making people stop and think."
People won't stop and think. People will just think "omg cool", and then continue their life as before.
"I never have room for negative criticism in my life, and to be honest, I think it is just needless"
Your assertion is self-contradicting. You are just negatively criticizing negative criticism.

I don't have a problem with people freely expressing their ideas and turning off (or on for that matter) their own lights. I do have a problem when municipalities that are established to, among other things, provide common services (like street lights) feel that they have the option to turn off those services for a political cause without consulting the people that gave them that authority. I’d love to see a report about the tangible result of turning off streetlights for an hour in major cities. However, I doubt that that’ll make the evening news since it doesn’t support the current politically correct thought.
Everywhere I turn the "green" agenda is being stuffed down my throat as established fact. There is some science behind parts of it, but it’s hardly a closed case. Most of what I see is just feel good hype promoted by people who have little or no clue about scientific principles but are never-the-less compelled to ‘raise awareness’ in the rest of us until we go along with their feelings. A lot of the ‘green’ movement looks to me to like a bunch of people who either want to sell me something or regulate my life in order to enlighten me about how to live ‘correctly’.
This email/forum usually includes info about space, astronomy, etc. Just because the politics of the save the earth movement include the word ‘earth’, ‘globe’ or ‘planet’ in their mantra do not make this a relevant topic for inclusion in this forum. I subscribe to Universe Today to find out about what’s going on in space. I don’t expect you to spam me with political activism.
Green and private conservation are fine.
We have no problem with an individual or group that wants to sit naked in the dark without
heat, clothing or light.
Additionally, we'd have no problem with the group holding a pro-green technology rally.
That's their choice.
But when this group stages a "global election" - enviros are asking the world's citizenry
to vote Earth by switching off our lights with the express purpose of influencing
government policies to take action against global warming - we have every right as
individuals to express our vote for the opposite.
If our Human Achievement Hour is at all a dig against Earth Hour, it is so only by the
fact that we are pointing out what Earth Hour truly is about:
It isn't pro-Earth, it is anti-man and anti-innovation.
mind.
Check this out too: Earth Hour - The world gets ready to switch off: The Online Citizen - A community of Singaporeans.
I think this is the longest post I've ever made.
Also, you can see how I've researched to a certain degree before writing up my own opinions regarding Earth Hour.

Last but not least, I resent that I'm such a black sheep of my family.
Ironically, my family members want me, ME to switch off all the lights at home from 8.30pm-9.30pm while they go out for dinner and leaving me to starve alone at home again.
At least my dad was lenient, "at least for 10 minutes, okay?"
P.S. Gee, I actually wasted my time on this.
Spiced.
Read Ringo x Ikki's arc for the third time.
And this particular page is the most irresistable.
So, I photoshopped it into my new blog background.
I have two other versions, both just a slight alteration to the kanji on the top left corner or none at all.
I can't seem to upload the image to ImageShack somehow.
This made me depressed.
&&&
Wee.
In a matter of seconds.
I solved the problem.
HAHAHA.
I'm boasting.
Nah, it's just some minor problem with the file name.
Surprisingly or not surprisingly.
&&&
Today felt weird.
Just. Weird.
I will upload our photos at some other time.
Most probably tomorrow.
I know I'm using loads of pink.

I hate this new template.
I'm gonna do some photoshopping soon.
GAWAIN's stock doesn't make me happy enough.
F.shit.
I don't want the contents (everything) to be in the middle.
I want them left.
Blardy Mayhem.
Edit: NavBar is a fag.
Hui Yi and The Albino Frogs.
After you revealed what was inside the big Promod bag, I changed my mind.
I loved the froggies more though, fufufu.
First thing that came across my mind when I saw them was,
" HOW EDIBLE!!!! "
I've secretly nicknamed the three frogs.
Kero Kero, Puri Puri and Nike Nike.
Haha. Don't ask me why.
But, Kero Kero is my favourite standard for frogs.
I wanted to hold them in my hands but I think they were afraid of me.
The vibes that I was sending out I believed, was extremely hostile...
BUT, you guys were too cute!!!!
It was not enough to just stare at you shit and not touch you and stroke your back gently and perhaps a kiss.
I want to hug you guys too.
And woa, you guys weren't slimy at all.
I love.
I want albino frogs too.
Their colour appeals to me.

Skinny-Dipping.
I heard Student Council Elections will last for 5 hours this Friday, from Kenny.
So I jaw-dropped in front of him.
I do intend to go.
Listening to the candidates' speeches and making fun of anything possible.
You know, I just want to play the part of an awful senior.
I'm quite sure I'll enjoy that.
BUT. FIVE HOURS???
I saw how Yi Chin suggested a private home prom on Edward's new Facebook group -
HELP A-LEVELS PROM 2009 is determined THIS FRIDAY!
Yea. I liked the idea. Interestinggggg.HMMMMMM.

Freaking done shit with the Japanese Language Class poster.
Thanks loadsssss to Geat Ling and Wei Yee for finishing it albeit being equally busy themselves.
Really sorry for the inconvenience.
The poster's main colour theme was PINK, I thought it really cute.
Hmm yeaa..
There will be a Free Trial Japanese Language Class this Friday from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Meeting Room, Wisma HELP DSA.
Poster came out a little late, but still good enough since the proposal was just approved yesterday itself!

I'm lucky Ms.Aw was fooled by us.
I haven't finished my Review Exercise 1.
Hurray!
Now, more work to do.
Shit.
&&&
No A-Voice Layout meeting tomorrow.
I feel ... helpless.
I mean, I'm getting all sorts of tests next week so I really want to have nothing to do with any club or society stuffs next week.
Fine, next Friday will be it.

One of the main arguments for this "Earth Hour" lights-out seems to be that it will unify all humans on the planet.
But let me put forth this criticism: What if instead of striving for one hour of unified action, we each took *individual responsibility* for our own actions every single hour of every single day?
Sure it *feels* great to stand up with a crowd, march tall and strong together… but feeling good isn't what we need here. We need real change, and that isn't going to happen overnight, or in one hour. It happens every day of the rest of your life.
I had lights on during this hour - I make my living in part as a photographer, and I was involved in a photoshoot all evening. Does this make me a bad person because I didn't jump on a bandwagon to be "unified" with the rest of the world?
But let me tell you a few more things: I carpooled to this photoshoot. We use digital cameras which don't waste plastic and silver as with conventional photography. I don't own a car and use public transit as much as possible. I buy very little packaging and compost my food waste. Most of the food I buy is produced locally, and I also garden to supplement this. By gardening organically and with cover crops, I am also returning carbon to the soil and providing habitat for wild bees and other pollinators. And the lights? I just counted - I have 18 lights in my house, and most of them are off most of the time.
So sure, I don't feel "unity" with the rest of the human species, but I don't want to! I don't see how a herd mentality is going to help us improve our environment. While the rest of the herd is busy patting themselves on the back for their one hour of triumph, I will be out working in my garden.
Oh, and if you light a candle for tomorrow, make sure it's beeswax, or you might be putting lead and benzene into the air. And while you're at it, make sure it's organic beeswax, or you might be contributing to Colony Collapse Disorder.
